At just 12 years old, Aisha Mohammazai was forced into marriage with a Taliban fighter as a means of paying off debts and was treated like an object. She endured daily physical and mental abuse and was in a miserable situation. Eventually, she reached her breaking point and attempted to escape, but was caught and imprisoned for five months.



When she was released, the judge, instead of granting justice, ordered her to return to her husband. Determined to break free from the cycle of abuse, she attempted to escape again but was caught once more. Her husband inflicted a horrific punishment that will shock you down..

Aisha herself remembers fainting during the ordeal. When she regained consciousness in the middle of the night, she felt a chill, as if cold water had entered her nose.


Having nearly died in the mountains, she miraculously reached her grandfather's house, where she found shelter and help. Ultimately, she was admitted to a secret facility and subsequently received treatment.


In 2010, an effort was made to transport her to the United States, where she underwent a series of surgeries. During the surgeries, temporary prostheses were provided, and her nose and ears were reconstructed using tissue from other parts of her body.

Aisha continues to struggle with post-traumatic stress disorder and various mental health issues stemming from the horrific abuse she endured. The fact that she was forced to marry a terrorist at the young age of 12 due to debt, and was subjected to abuse and torture, fills her with an unspeakable emptiness. Sadly, her case is not isolated. Similar cases occur every day, where girls' futures are shattered by outdated and misguided beliefs and traditions. This serves as a stark reminder that just because something is considered traditional does not mean it is morally right or beneficial.
