Teacher Accused of Relationship with 14-Year-Old. A 31-year-old teacher from Wisconsin now faces three felony counts after police say she became involved in an inappropriate relationship with a teenage boy in her class. The case started when staff at the private school came across a letter from the teacher, Keisha Stuart, addressed to the 14-year-old student. School officials described the note as concerning enough to contact authorities right away.   Investigators later spoke with the student, who told police the situation with his teacher crossed the line, according to details shared in the criminal complaint and confirmed across multiple reports from FOX11.  The teen described multiple visits to Stuart’s apartment, including times when he had run away from home, and said she made sexual advances. Police also recovered a video on the boy’s phone that allegedly showed Stuart taking off her clothes, along with other material that led to one of the charges. Court r...

Teacher Str-angles Former Student, Leaves Her for De-ad in the Woods In April 2006, in Belleville, Illinois, 17-year-old Ashley Reeves was brutally attacked by her former high school teacher and track coach, Sam Shelton, who was 27 years old at the time. Shelton lured Ashley into the woods under the pretense of helping her with a personal issue. Once there, he strangled her with his hands and a belt, beat her severely, and left her for dead in a remote wooded area. He believed she was dead and even went back to work afterward. Ashley endured over 30 hours lying in the cold woods, suffering from a broken neck (in two places), a crushed voice box, a fractured skull, and numerous other injuries. Against all odds, she stayed alive by staying conscious and fighting to breathe. On April 29, 2006, a volunteer searcher finally found her barely alive. She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Doctors were amazed she had survived. 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐅𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐈𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦...

Image
In mid-November 2010, residents living near Wat Bowon Rangsri, a Buddhist temple in Bangkok's old city, began complaining of a powerful and persistent smell. On 16 November, police investigated and traced the odour to the temple's mortuary, a room normally used to hold bodies awaiting cremation, a process that under Thai Buddhist tradition can take place years after death. Inside, authorities found more than 300 foetuses stored in white plastic bags.  They returned two days later. A total of 1,654 more foetuses were found in two further rooms. Some had been stored there for more than a year. The final count exceeded 2,000. Police raided three clinics in the Thon Buri neighbourhood of Bangkok and arrested a 33-year-old woman named Lanjakorn Jantamanas. She confessed to transporting foetuses from illegal abortion clinics to the temple morgue, saying she had been doing so for at least five years. The clinics paid her 500 baht, approximately $17 per trip. She said she had...

50 Years Later Woman Guilty of Killing Baby with Scalding Hot Bath. Janice Nix, 67, was found guilty Monday of manslaughter in the 1978 death of 5-year-old Andrea Bernard after jurors decided she forced the girl into a dangerously hot bath as punishment at the family home in London. The incident took place on June 6, 1978. Andrea suffered burns covering about half her body and died five weeks later on July 13th from sepsis and related complications. Back then, investigators treated the death as an accident. According to the Metropolitan Police, the case stayed closed until Andrea’s older brother, Desmond Bernard, came forward in September 2022 with a different account of what happened that day. He was around eight years old at the time. Desmond told police and later testified that Nix made him promise to say it was an accident so the beatings would stop. He also described years of cruelty in the home between 1975 and 1978, including beatings and being forced to eat cat food. ...

Teen Attacks Girl Who Refused His Phone Number. A 14-year-old boy is under arrest after a video that spread quickly online showed him slamming a 15-year-old girl to the pavement and stomping on her head in East Harlem. The whole thing started around 3:30 p.m. Monday at the busy corner of East 107th Street and Third Avenue, right after school let out. Police say the boy approached the girl and asked for her number. When she turned him down, he blocked her path in the crosswalk and threatened to knock her out, with one of his friends egging him on. She told him to back off and tried to walk away. That’s when he grabbed her from behind, lifted her up, and threw her down hard onto the sidewalk. He then stomped on her head before walking off. The girl ended up with a concussion. Emergency crews took her to Harlem Hospital, where she was listed in stable condition. In June 2005, in the Ethiopian countryside, a twelve-year-old girl was walking home from school when four men attacked her. Their plan was terrifying: to kidnap her and force her into marriage, a cruel custom that still exists in some remote areas. Dragged into an empty hut, beaten, and held for seven days, the girl endured fear and pain with no hope of rescue. Then, nature stepped in. Out of the forest came three wild lions. They charged at the kidnappers, who ran away in fear. Left behind, the girl expected the worst—but instead of harming her, the lions stood guard, forming a protective circle around her. For hours they stayed calm and watchful, as though she belonged to them. When police finally arrived, the lions quietly slipped away into the wild. Their protection ended as suddenly as it began. This remarkable event is hard to explain. In a world often scarred by human cruelty, the girl’s rescue came not from people, but from nature itself. A reminder that kindn...

A Roma woman and child in a camp during an investigation by the Racial Hygiene Research Center at the Reich Bureau for Health. 1938. For centuries, Romani tribes had been subject to antiziganist persecution and humiliation in Europe. They were stigmatized as habitual criminals, social misfits, and vagabonds. After Hitler’s rise to power, legislation against the Romani was increasingly based upon a rhetoric of racism. The policy originally based on the premise of “fighting crime” was redirected to “fighting a people”. Targeted groups were no longer determined by juridical grounds. Instead, they were victims of racialized policy. Eva Justin interviews a Roma woman about her family and ancestry. 1938. Eva Justin interviews a Roma woman about her family and ancestry. 1938. Her story shocked a nation and sparked conversations that continue today about safety, dignity, and the rights of transgender people. Dandara lived her life with courage, authenticity, and resilience, navigating a world that often failed to protect her. The attacks she endured highlighted a painful reality: transgender people in Brazil face extraordinary risks simply for being themselves. Activists, human rights organizations, and communities around the world have invoked Dandara’s memory to push for justice, stronger protections, and awareness about the violence and discrimination that transgender individuals continue to face. DAUGHTER OF WOMAN WHO DIED AFTER COFFEE SHOP FIGHT CLAIMS POLICE USED AI TO ALTER VIDEO The daughter of a 75-year-old Indiana woman who died after a confrontation inside a Tim Hortons is now accusing police of using artificial intelligence to alter surveillance footage released to the public. Anita Grayson collapsed and later died following a violent altercation at a Tim Hortons location in Fort Wayne on May 13. A few days ago, police released surveillance video showing Grayson allegedly initiating the confrontation by lunging toward a young employee and pulling out a chunk of the worker’s hair during a dispute over a drive-thru order. However, Grayson’s daughter, Tawnda Grayson, now claims the “full footage” released by authorities was manipulated in an effort to make it appear that her mother was the aggressor. “They’re trying to cover it up,” Tawnda told the Daily Mail, alleging investigators are attempting to “put the blame on my mother” rather than pursuing charges against ...

Helene Mayer: The Jewish Fencer Who Fought for Hitler

Image
Helene Mayer: The Jewish Fencer Who Fought for Hitler Nazi Germany’s Jewish champion: the mystery of Helene Mayer endures. 1936 Berlin Olympics.  Helene Mayer, remains one of the Olympics’ great mysteries. She was, by definition of German law at the time, part-Jewish, which had cost her most of her citizenship rights. Her country’s press was forbidden to mention her name. Once she had been one of Germany’s most beloved athletes, but by that afternoon she had been living a four-year exile in the US, unwanted by her homeland. So why did she throw out her arm in tacit acceptance of so much hate? In 1924, Helene Mayer won the German national championship in women’s foil fencing at the age of 13. She went on to successfully defend her title six years in a row. Her extraordinary talent dazzled the country, earning her fame and adulation. Mayer was only 13 when she won the German women's foil championship in 1924. This picture was taken in 1928.  Mayer was only 13 when she won...

Known for his genre-defying music, electrifying performances, and unapologetic individuality, Prince’s untimely death sent shockwaves through the music industry and beyond. Prince Rogers Nelson, the musical genius behind hits like “Purple Rain,” “When Doves Cry,” and “1999,” broke boundaries throughout his career. He was a pioneer in blending genres like funk, rock, R&B, pop, and new wave. His ability to seamlessly fuse these styles, while maintaining a distinct sound, earned him a reputation as one of the greatest musicians of all time. But it wasn’t just his music that set him apart. Prince was also a trailblazer in how he approached his career. He famously fought for creative control over his work, even changing his name to an unpronounceable symbol as...

To give a little perspective during these difficult times, imagine you were born in America in 1900. When you turned 14, World War I started, and it ended on your 18th birthday. By then, 22 million people had died. Later that year, the Spanish Flu pandemic spread across the world and lasted until you were 20. In just those two years, 50 million people died. Yes, 50 million. When you were 29, the Great Depression began. Unemployment reached 25%, and the global economy shrank by 27%. That lasted until you were 33. The country almost collapsed along with the world economy. By the time you turned 39, World War II began. You weren’t even considered old yet. At 41, the United States fully joined World War II. Between your 39th and 45th birthday, 75 million people died in the war, and six million were killed in the Holocaust. At 52, the Korean War started, and another five million people died. When you turned 64, the Vietnam War began and lasted for many years, claiming four million...

Chased by youth armed with clubs, this woman is fleeing from a “death dealer” whose left leg can be seen at the left-hand edge of the photograph. The Lviv pogroms were the consecutive massacres of Jews living in the city of Lwów (now Lviv, Ukraine), perpetrated by Ukrainian nationalists (specifically, the OUN), German death squads (Einsatzgruppen), and urban population from 30 June to 2 July, and from 25 to 29 July, during the German invasion of the Soviet Union. Ukrainian nationalists targeted Jews in the first pogrom on the pretext of their purported responsibility for the NKVD prisoner massacre in Lviv, which left behind thousands of corpses in three Lviv prisons. The subsequent massacres were directed by the Germans in the context of the Holocaust in Eastern Europe. On the morning of 25 July 1941, the Ukra...
