It was just after sunrise on April 13, 2011, when 20-year-old nursing student Holly Bobo stepped outside her family’s home in Parsons, Tennessee and vanished.

Her brother saw her walking into the woods with a man in camouflage. He thought it was her boyfriend. Minutes later, he realized it wasn’t. Holly’s car keys, purse and phone were left behind. A few spots of b-ood near the garage were the only sign something terrible had happened.

For years, the search for Holly consumed the town. Helicopters circled over dense woods. Volunteers combed through creeks and fields. Her face was everywhere on posters, in shop windows, on the evening news. Everyone was looking, but she was nowhere to be found.

Three years later, the truth finally surfaced. Zach Adams, a man from the same small community was arrested and charged with her kidnapping and m-rder. Testimony revealed he and two others ,Jason Autry and Shayne Austin had abducted Holly, taken her deep into the woods, and ended her life. One of them bragged about what they did. Another turned witness to save himself.

In 2014, partial remains found in the Decatur County woods were confirmed to be Holly’s. In 2017, Zach Adams was convicted and sentenced to life in prison without parole. Autry took a plea deal. Austin was gone before trial could begin.

Even now, Holly’s story stays with people not just because of how she d-ed, but because of how ordinary that morning began. A quiet home, a trusted town, and a young woman who never made it to class. Some stories fade when justice is done. Hers never did.
