Janice Nix, 67, was found guilty Monday of manslaughter in the 1978 death of 5-year-old Andrea Bernard after jurors decided she forced the girl into a dangerously hot bath as punishment at the family home in London. The incident took place on June 6, 1978. Andrea suffered burns covering about half her body and died five weeks later on July 13th from sepsis and related complications. Back then, investigators treated the death as an accident.
